Somebody else’s food can be a poison for my body! Let’s talk about Bio-Individuality

Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Hippocrates

Didn’t you feel most of the times that after trying a new diet and following all the steps of this diet, you do not see the result that you were expecting to see, especially on the long-term period?

Yes, that is what I noticed as well. Does that mean that somebody else’s food can be a poison for my body? The answer is, Yes. When somebody tells you that grains are good for you and meat is terribly bad, try to listen to your body, but not a strict recommendation. It is too much generalization. Let it try and listen to the response that your body tells you. Just your body knows how much water you need, how much carbohydrates, proteins, and fats you should eat or should you combine the protein with the starches at the same time or not. The reaction that your body has after eating one or another food is the best adviser to you. We are all unique, each person has his own, very specific needs for his health. Thus, we want to treat our bodies as a temple that needs to be decorated from the inside to reach the mind-body connection.

Think about our complex body -individuality. Where our ancestors came from? If they came from India, your body will probably love rice, turmeric etc. If they came from Eastern Europe? They probably ate lots of fermented food or cooked stews, dairy etc.

Your blood type also influences your bio-individuality. Some foods can cause the cells of individuals with the certain blood type to clump together while having no impact on the cells of individuals with another blood types.

Another part of bio-individuality is metabolism. Have you ever noticed that one person can eat pasta with bread for dinner and stay thin, but another one will gain weight eating the same type and amount of food?

The metabolic theory demonstrates that no one diet is right for all of us. It shows that everybody’s body will metabolize food differently.

The body sends us the messages that we should not ignore. Constipation and bloating are signs that something that we are eating does not get along with what our body needs are. You can start recording what you ate throughout the day and how you felt after eating it. By tracking the way, you feel physically and emotionally after eating a certain type of food you can finally find the connection between them.

Please, do not ignore these signs, follow your body messages and intuition. Try a variety of food to make a connection between your diet and the way you feel.
